As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread across Australia, we know that the coming weeks and months will be tough and full of uncertainty for many of us. In times like this, we feel that it is more important than ever that we respond as a community and do what we can to help one another. Now is the time for solidarity and to come together with love and compassion. We want to assure you that while understandably many of our planned events in the areas we work in have been cancelled or postponed at the directive of our community partners, we will still be going ahead with any planned small community events as long as organisations and businesses are happy to push forward. Of course, we will be taking into consideration all necessary hygiene and distancing precautions in order to prevent the spread, as well as keeping up-to-date with current directives from health professionals and state & federal governments.

Rebuilding Community Resilience in East Gippsland

Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT), a national grass-roots suicide prevention charity, have announced they are employing a HALT Project Worker to connect with individuals and community groups affected by the devastating bushfires in the East Gippsland region. The funding for the new community role, awarded by the Mazda Foundation, is to be used directly to rebuild community resilience and mental health, particularly amongst tradies.

Tradie Mental Health Gets a Boost in Keilor

Keilor tradies are set to receive a boost to their mental health with the Keilor Village Medical Centre pledging to provide faster and more effective access to support and mental health care for tradespeople in the Keilor and North West Melbourne region. The practice is the first in the area to partner with Hope Assistance Local Tradies as one of their HALT- Friendly Clinics.
